Job Description
The Fungi Farm Technician supports the cultivation of micro and macro fungi at MYCOLOGOS through a variety of technical and labor-intensive processes.
Tasks include substrate processing and inoculating; preparing live culture orders; processing and cloning wild fungi collections; maintaining our culture library; performing regular cleaning duties; tracking growth rates and harvesting mushrooms; and assisting with infrastructural improvements.
This is a labor-intensive position that requires the movement of 50 lb. bags of materials, sustained periods of standing, bending, lifting, and working quickly when inoculating the grow kits. After an initial training period, the FFT will be expected to perform a number of standard tasks within an average amount of time (so that days can be planned efficiently).

Primary Roles
- Grain, sawdust, straw, and compost based spawn and substrate production
- Lab, incubation space, and fruiting environment cleaning, repairs, and maintenance
- Data logging
- Aseptic culture maintenance
- Grow kit and pure culture order fulfillment
- Soil fungi harvesting
Your Skills
- Having familiarity and experience in fungal cultivation and experimental design ideal but not required.
- You are disciplined, organized, inquisitive, and driven. You are a self starter that can identify and troubleshoot hurdles as they arise.
- A strong communicator and multi-tasker.
Commitment
This position requires a two-year commitment and the signing of a multi-year non-compete / non-disclosure agreement.
